I’d been out of theater for a minute but ran across a casting notice about a Seattle production of Spring Awakening. I had seen the national tour when it came through town in 2008 and so when I saw the news of a Seattle production I knew I had to be involved in whatever capacity they’d have me.
After reaching out to a colleague I got connected to the production team and served as Assistant Stage Manager for the first run.

April 2012 - Remount & Tour Cast
Remounting the Production
After selling out so much of our initial run, the show was remounted a few months later. Almost all of our original cast were able to return to the production! With all of our returning friends and a few new ones joining we held the show in Seattle and then toured the production north to Mount Vernon.
When scheduling conflicts prevented our sound designer from being involved in the run of the remount, I had a crash course in sound mixing and then proceeded to be sound operator for the remount - successfully live mixing a rock musical with zero experience.
The production was fantastic and even in Mount Vernon we had great, energetic crowds. Though the show saw me break my first bone (I fractured a rib during Mount Vernon load-in - but the show must go on!) it holds a very dear place in my heart.
